The screenplay was written by Prasoon Joshi, who also penned the lyrics for the songs composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The cinematography was done by Binod Pradhan, while the editing was handled by P.S. Bharathi. The film was based on the autobiography of Milkha Singh and his daughter Sonia Sanwalka, titled The Race of My Life.
