How to Create and Use a Spellbound Kingdoms Character Sheet
Spellbound Kingdoms is a fantasy role-playing game that features a unique combat system based on fighting styles, maneuvers, inspirations, and mood. In this game, you can play as a zeppelin pilot, a courtesan, a feral child, an alchemist, a sorcerer, an engineer, a politician, a dragon slayer, or a zombie hunter. To create and use your character sheet, you will need the following:
The Spellbound Kingdoms core rulebook or the Combat Primer (available for free download at http://www.spellboundkingdoms.com/SKCOmbatPrimerBW.pdf)
A blank character sheet template (available for free download at https://github.com/ArisenDemon97/Spellbound-Kingdoms-Character-Aid)
A pencil and an eraser
A set of polyhedral dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20)
To create your character sheet, follow these steps:
Choose your character's name, gender, age, appearance, and background. You can use the sample characters in Appendix Two of the Combat Primer as inspiration.
Determine your character's attributes: Strength (Str), Dexterity (Dex), Intelligence (Int), Charisma (Cha), and Willpower (Wil). You have 15 points to distribute among them, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 for each attribute. Write them down on your character sheet.
Choose your character's class: Fighter, Rogue, Mage, or Noble. Each class has different advantages and disadvantages in combat and social situations. Write down your class on your character sheet.
Choose your character's fighting style: one of the 16 styles described in the Combat Primer or the core rulebook. Each style has a different set of maneuvers that you can use in combat to attack, defend, or perform special actions. Write down your style name and its maneuvers on your character sheet.
Choose your character's skills: one primary skill and two secondary skills. Skills represent your character's non-combat abilities and talents. You can choose from the list of skills in the core rulebook or create your own with the GM's approval. Write down your skills and their ratings on your character sheet. Your primary skill has a rating equal to your highest attribute + 2. Your secondary skills have ratings equal to your second highest attribute + 1.
Choose your character's gear: weapons, armor, and items that you can use in combat or other situations. You can choose from the list of gear in the core rulebook or create your own with the GM's approval. Write down your gear and its effects on your character sheet.
Calculate your character's derived stats: Health (Hlth), Defense (Def), Damage (Dmg), Initiative (Init), and Mood (Md). These stats are based on your attributes, class, style, skills, and gear. Use the formulas in the core rulebook or the Combat Primer to determine them. Write them down on your character sheet.
Choose your character's inspirations: words or phrases that motivate you in combat and give you bonuses to certain maneuvers. You can choose from the list of inspirations in the core rulebook or create your own with the GM's approval. Write them down on your character sheet.
To use your character sheet in combat, follow these steps:
Roll for initiative: roll a d20 and add your Init stat. The highest result goes first, then the second highest, and so on.
Choose a maneuver: look at your style sheet and pick one of the maneuvers that you can use. Each maneuver has a name, a type (attack or defense), a target (self or enemy), a cost (in mood points), an effect ( aa16f39245
