[S1E8] Into The Light
All the mystery pieces fell into place on I Know What You Did Last Summer Season 1 Episode 8. After weeks of bloody deaths, Wai Huna's serial killer came into the light and left chaos in their way. Kudos to everyone who got it right.
[S1E8] Into the Light
Brianne Tju did a fantastic job channeling and portraying the unhinged side of this character. It's like a switch went off where every moment with Margot left us with dread and uneasiness. Plus, her killer stare buries into your soul.
She couldn't even fake it for a little bit to show her daughter some kindness. Helen only came back for the cult's bible; she should've just called Bruce and had him courier the book to her instead of wasting a flight.
Sofia saunters towards her mother to hold her hand, but it disappears through the gate. Sofia then asks for the Solitary King, giving herself to the entity, announcing herself as part of the light. She asks for the final veil to be opened. The gate slowly activates, and a sizeable demon-like creature reveals itself, and Sofia screams, leaving the audience on a cliffhanger.

'You get what you deserve'. It's an old saying. One that survived the years, because it's true. For the most part. But not for everyone. Some get more than they deserve. Because they believe they aren't like everyone else. That the rules, the ones people like me and you, the people that work and struggle to live our lives, just live, don't apply to them. That they can do anything and live happily ever after, while the rest of us suffer. They do this from the shadows. Shadows that we cast. With our indifference. With a pervasive lack of interest in anything that doesn't directly affect us, we, in the here and now. Or maybe it's just the shadow of weariness. Of how tired we are, struggling to claw our way back to a middle class that no longer exist, because of those who take more than they deserve. And they keep taking, until all that's left for the rest of us is a memory of how it used to be before the corporations and the bottom line decided we didn't matter anymore. But we do. You and I, the people of this city we still matter. There's someone in Hell's Kitchen that doesn't share this belief. He's been among us for quite some time. You've never heard his name. You've never seen his face. He's stayed in the shadows. Because men like him, men that want to control our city, our lives, fear the light and what it reveals. This man must no longer be allowed to operate in the darkness. If he has nothing to hide, let him step forward.
The next morning Nancy is once again visited by the little boy, who is being chased by the ghost of his mother. She locks the door to the living room, stops the mother, and attempts to comfort the boy. He passes on to the other side after Nancy comforts him to the point where is no longer scared and runs into the light. This revelation finally breaks Nancy down, who begins to cry.
The entire time the little boy has been a ghost he has constantly been running from his mother, due to the fact she drowned him after going crazy. Thanks to his fear and confusion, the boy would have been too scared to pass on. This is why when Nancy helps him, she is able to comfort him to the point where he can run into the warmth of the light, and in doing so passes on, no longer to haunt the house.
Sinclair, now delirious and hallucinating, wanders into Downbelow, his befuddled mind perceiving all he comes across as more of the grey-robed Minbari figures. When one of the station's security personnel approaches him, he wards her off with a PPG blast and flees, while she is killed before she can report by Knight One as he pursues Sinclair.
Sinclair wanders into the Zócalo, only for Knight One to arrive and engage him a shootout. Garibaldi arrives and wounds Knight One, but the still-delusional Sinclair starts firing at Garibaldi. Dr. Franklin has found the operatives' location and links Garibaldi, warning him that the commander may be under the influence of psychotropic drugs.
Once they are inside, they must leave their phones and enter an underground party with many rooms. It appears everything goes, and, within reason, you can do whatever you want. Tom is excited and tells everyone that Shiv gave him the green light. Greg later asks what this means, and if Shiv is allowed to do whatever she wants. This makes Tom uncomfortable and he begins to have second thoughts, and starts a round of phone calls to Shiv. She tells him not to worry about it, as she is busy working with Gil, and unbeknownst to Tom, Nate as well.
During Tom's bachelor party, Shiv Roy is working alongside her father's nemesis Gil Eavis and her ex-boyfriend, Nate Sofrelli, who is constantly trying to start up a relationship with her again. She always declines, but allows continuing flirting and touching. Eventually the two are in bed together, but Shiv doesn't seem to consider this cheating, as both she and Tom have the green light.
Greg, who has been keeping an eye on Ken the whole night, finds him about to snort four lines of cocaine. Ken says he has already done four, and another four would probably make him overdose. Not wanting him to die, Greg is pressured into doing the last two lines. Never having done cocaine before, he is genuinely worried he might now overdose. Tom does nothing to make him feel better, and says he might die.
The night ends with everyone rounding up, and Tom informing Greg he received a blow job from Tabitha (Caitlin FitzGerald), a girl they met at the party. Tom boasts that, after Tabitha kissed him, she put his own cum back inside his mouth for him to swallow, an act which he assumes is supposed to be very sexy. It doesn't take long for everyone to hear about this news, and to make fun of Tom, while they all wait for their car together. Before the night is over, Shiv and Logan have dinner together. The two get into an argument and leave before they can eat. That night Marcia Roy calls Shiv, to tell her that Logan can no longer come to her wedding, claiming that he is too sick. Shiv is aware the two events are clearly related.
The elderly Helge Doppler is deep inside the caves, chanting "Tick-tock." Ulrich Nielsen uses his lighter to find a long red cord connected to a metal ouroboros attached to the ground like a handle. Suddenly, Ulrich hears the sound of a loud wind roaring from a distance. He follows the source of the echoing through a rock-strewn crawl space and finds the metal door with the Latin message "Sic Mundus Creatus Est." He opens it. He reaches an intersection with two pathways and chooses the left one.
Tannhaus demonstrates how a wormhole works using a drawing. He asks The Stranger to imagine he is standing in a dark room and flashes a light beam in the left direction. There is no way it could reach his right side, but a wormhole changes the topology of space-time: nothing is where it belongs anymore.
Claudia takes Tronte and Gretchen through the forest while Helge follows them. They come to the entrance to the caves; Claudia says they're not allowed to enter but sometimes do anyway, as a dare. She tells Helge to go home. Helge throws a stick into the mouth of the caves, and Gretchen chases after it. Helge then runs away.
Ulrich tells Helge that he will eventually kill; the two boys at the construction site, his brother and his son- not now, but in the future. Ulrich tells Helge he can change the past and the future; if Helge doesn't exist, it won't happen. He grabs Helge, but the young boy kicks him and runs into the forest. Ulrich chases after him. Helge runs toward the cabin, but Ulrich grabs him and pins him to the ground. Helge finds a rock and tries to hit Ulrich with it, but Ulrich takes it from him. He hesitates but then repeatedly bludgeons him to the head until he is unconscious.
The Stranger asks Tannhaus how he would feel if time travel was possible. He then reveals the existence of a wormhole in Winden and that he came from the future. The Stranger shows the strange device he's been carrying around, which is broken, and he asks Tannhaus to fix it. Tannhaus says he can't do that, but the Stranger tells him that he built it, as his initials are on the device. The Stranger says that it's a time machine that can create a portal that allows the user to travel thirty-three years into the future or past. The Stranger says that a few months ago, an incident at the nuclear plant released a blast of energy and that the time machine can replicate the process. He wants to destroy the wormhole using the device. In a state of shock, Tannhaus tells him to leave. The Stranger tells him he can fix all that is wrong in Winden with the machine. He has seen the future and knows what will happen. Tannhaus must help him make things right. After the Stranger leaves, Tannhaus takes out another time machine and sets it next to the one the Stranger brought.
At the clockmaker's shop, the younger Tannhaus sees Ulrich's forgotten jacket. He checks the pockets and takes out his smartphone, unsure what it is. He presses a button and is shocked to see the screen light up with a photo of the Nielsen family from 2019.
A young piano prodigy is abducted from his father using a pattern of flashing lights, which Walter links back to his old bunkmate at St. Claire's Hospital. At Olivia's suggestion, Walter returns to the mental institution to interview him in hopes of solving the case but ends up staying against his will.
Under the hood, Stockton sees a mysterious pair of lights at the back of the engine compartment. The lights begin to flash in a green, green, green, red sequence. He becomes mesmerized until he's startled by the tow truck driver tapping on his shoulder. The rain has stopped. The young woman and her car have disappeared. And, to Jeremy's dismay, so has his son. 041b061a72
